We are pleased to announce the availability of NSF-supported travel funds for graduate students and junior researchers to attend the 2026 Conference on Statistical Foundations of Artificial Intelligence (CSFAI), to be held at the University of California, Santa Barbara on November 13–14, 2026.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- Current graduate students, or
- Junior researchers within five years of graduation at the time of the conference.
Travel support
Travel awards may be used to reimburse eligible conference-related expenses, including the conference registration fee.
All reimbursements will be based on actual eligible expenses and require appropriate receipts and documentation.
Selection criteria
Priority will be given to applicants who:
- Present a contributed poster at the conference, and
- Apply early, as awards will be made on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to the availability of funds.
We therefore strongly encourage applicants who wish to receive travel support to submit their applications as early as possible.
Application deadline: September 30, 2026. Applications received after the deadline may be considered only if funds remain available.
We especially encourage graduate students and early-career researchers working in statistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, and related fields to participate in the conference and present their research.
